Handler Focus: High
Handling Sensitivity: Low - Moderate; Poki allows her humans to do anything necessary. She is a bit suspicious of veterinary exams, but tolerant.
Sound Sensitivity: Low
Startle Response: Low
Environmental Sensitivity: Low
Prey Drive: Moderate
Food Drive: High
Toy Drive: High
Separation Distress: Low
Sociability with Dogs: Moderate
Sociability with People: Neutral - Reserved
Poki doesn’t mind that other people exist, but she’s a bit “germophobic” - if a stranger reaches for her she will dodge the pet. She doesn’t run away, just “no thanks”. After an initial meeting you’ll make it into her circle and receive happy greetings and hugs.
Sociability with Children: Neutral - Reserved
Poki is easily excited when children run, and because of this is not currently allowed out when our son has friends over unless everyone is mostly stationary. She chases in play, but for children who are not used to dogs it can be startling. Otherwise she treats strange children in the same way she treats strange adults.
Poki is the surprise puppy from our first litter. When the litter was about 5 weeks old, it became clear that Poki was absolutely smitten with our son, Dexter, who at the time was 5 years old and so badly wanted a doggie of his own. When placements were made, we decided to keep her…and we’re so very glad that we did. She is an absolute goof ball who makes us laugh everyday. Poki’s favorite activities include whatever we’re doing and whatever we’re doing - as long as it isn’t swimming. :) She loves learning tricks, playing agility, chasing trash (lure coursing), hiking (off or on leash), practicing rally obedience, and whatever silly ideas I have cooking up for what we’re doing today. She’s always ready to work, go for an adventure, or just lounge around for the day - though she may request a piece of recycling or two to tear to bits.
Overall, Poki is such a fun little dog. She wakes me up every morning with silly wiggly shenanigans, and falls asleep every night in Dexter’s bed atop a mountain of stuffed animals.
Poki qualified for Agility nationals the year she debuted in the sport. Placed in the top 5% at her first competitive racing event, and continues to blow me away with her drive and desire to Do The Thing. She loves to work, but she loves even more to work with her person. We started dabbling in freestyle heelwork, and she catches on so quickly to cues that revolve around handler movements. This is also where she shines in Agility. Learning the equipment she was absolutely fearless, and in fact enjoyed her fair share of A-Frame launches looking for that adrenaline rush I think.

Chaos is an absolute goofball with evil-genius level brains, but he’s simply too good to cause anything more than minor chaos. He’s smarter than you and he knows it and has better decision making skills than most adults. We often say dogs with this level of thoughtful problem solving skills are “too smart for their own good” because they often get into trouble, but Chaos is a brilliant boy who follows the rulebook. He’ll break into the pantry . . . and steal only his snacks. These thoughtful problem-solving skills of his have made his service dog training a breeze and he’s taken to the job like a natural. He has handled everything we’ve thrown at him from rodeos, farms, alpacas with a vendetta, carnivals, and busy festivals without blinking. A clever boy with a pure heart - he's an absolute joy.

Glimmer is a delight. She is always having a good time and is determined to make sure you are having one too. She's very concerned with following the rules and is extremely biddable with an amazing recall & adores training games! Even as a teen, she is easy for me to manage on days when I can't give her a ton of outlets or exercise due to my illness, but when I am able to be active and take her to sports events and classes she has a blast. She loves running, jumping, fetching, tugging... you name it. She has a great sense of humor and confidence from the icie side but can also be herdy-bossy with other dogs because of it. She learns quickly when they correct her rudeness, though. She is still maturing and there is a lot about her that I expect to change and mature over the next couple of years, but we are enjoying her adolescence together right now :)

Vulpecula has never known a bad day, or a stranger, and Santa is her Best Friend. While she may be easily distracted, she is very willing to do whatever thing you are doing for whatever treats you happen to have…or just your love! We have dabbled in agility foundations and we are working our way through flyball patterning. Vulpecula loves to play fetch when I get home from work and often takes a few laps around the yard, passing by just out of reach to let me know exactly how fast she is. She also loves to play with all dogs no matter their shape or size. All that being said, She’s also fine lounging on the couch watching TV. Critter Fixers is her favorite. She is maturing very well. She loves and has learned to respect our elderly chihuahua. She will chase a rabbit but only because she wants to tell it exactly how much she loves it. She has been an absolute joy to train as a first-time handler and remains as fearless and courageous as she was the day she was born. It has been a delight to watch her grow and I cannot wait to see all we can accomplish together.
